RE: able to see banned members reputation
I think you may be confusing 'nosy/nosey' with 'noisy', Goonday.
So you've seen new users viewing a banned person's reputation. That doesn't necessarily mean that those users had a strong desire to know more. It's just as likely that they accessed the reputation page, noticed that the user was banned, and then left the page without too much thought. You're just assuming that these new users want to know more. Aside from yourself, one person has specifically said that they support this idea. I'm not trying to undermine your opinion. Your argument is quite flawed, though. ![]() |

RE: able to see banned members reputation
Its still a nice suggestion, this will be an improved thing to the forum, how can it be nosy to look at banned members reputation? The banned ones don't even know about people looking into their reputations. Look at positive sides to make the forum better.
Edit: This would be a cool idea for the forum. Don't understand how its so nosy to look at banned members reputation. |

RE: able to see banned members reputation
It's nosy (in my opinion) because the purpose of the reputation system is to allow members to see how valuable another member's contribution to the forum is. If that member is banned, they no longer contribute to the forum, as I mentioned before, so it isn't necessary for people to be able to see their reputation. It seems like a waste of effort when there are other suggestions which could greatly benefit the forum. Your suggestion mainly seems to benefit you.

RE: able to see banned members reputation
Goonday, if you really want to know what people think of a banned user, all you need to do is look at their posts and the replies they get.
If you read a post and all the replies are something like "why did you make this, it's incredibly stupid" or "you're really making this to trash-talk _______", then they probably aren't well received. There really isn't any reason to view banned people's ratings (most of the banned users are bots, anyways, and wouldn't have any ratings). Therefore, despite the usefulness to yourself, it's simply viewed as nosiness (my the majority of commenters) and won't be added...not to mention all the in-depth changes to individual user accounts that would have to happen, which I mentioned earlier. ![]() |

But that wont be fair at all. Some people would like this, some would not, new users sometimes look at banned users reputations. Its not that hard at all. But still if you would like this chat to be private, Pm me. |

RE: able to see banned members reputation
But you have to think of the majority. So far, we can only judge the idea's merit by what has been said on this thread. There seem to be more people against the idea than for it. Wouldn't it be equally unfair to ignore the majority, in favour of the minority?

RE: able to see banned members reputation
I'd actually like to know who the "some people" are. Goon, you keep mentioning this, but nobody has come to your defense and you, yourself, haven't given any names of people who want this. As Tally said, the rule is that the majority rules. If you ask 10 people and 6 say "no", then it's only fair to follow them.
