RE: able to see banned members reputation
The purpose of forum reputation seems to be allowing people to get an idea of how 'useful' another member is and what they contribute to the forum. If said member is banned, they no longer contribute anything to the forum as an individual. Therefore, I don't really see any need for people to be able to see a banned member's reputation, other than sheer nosiness.
I'm a little disappointed by your attitude. When you pitch an idea to the forum, criticism is likely to be a large part of the response. You should then take on board the criticism and consider whether or not the person who offered the critique has a valid point. Your claim that it 'has to be in the forum', but you haven't offered any substantial evidence as to why your suggestion would make a good addition to the forum. Personally, I feel that tenchi made same valid points. ![]() |

Why the forum cant have a little change of reputation once in awhile? |

RE: able to see banned members reputation
Please, notice the difference between being simply curious or nosy. You said yourself - intrusive. That's the key word. There is a difference between intrusive curiosity or simply being curious.

RE: able to see banned members reputation
If I was just being curious, it would be for example say, asking a question. Like, how fast does that car go? (Considering it wasn't my own). If I was being intrusively curious, then instead of just asking, or only asking, I would maybe open the hood and look at the engine components, attempt to drive it, read the cars manual, and more, (again, considering it wasn't my own, hence if it was I'd know
![]() Intrusively Curious can be, (on my own definition), going too far when not needed, or asking too much of something. Curious is just, (again on my own), asking, then taking in the detail and not going on about it. In the case of this topic, curious would be, let's take a look at Venon's rep, since he's banned. Intrusively Curious may be asking a person why they gave him a -rep, or why he has a certain rep, something of the sort. ![]() ![]() ![]() It's not that I fear in my own self-confidence, it's that the others fear in it. ![]() |

RE: able to see banned members reputation
I would have liked to see some members reputations in the past too, but it's ultimately pointless really. And I agree with Tally on all her points. It's all just sheer "noisiness" (not sure if I have heard that word used before).

RE: able to see banned members reputation
I'm not sure how this has turned into a discussion of semantics, but I stand by what I said. You're right that curiosity is vastly different to nosiness. The Oxford English Dictionary defines 'nosiness' as 'showing too much curiosity'. Curiosity is more of a feeling; a desire to know something. Curiosity is not necessarily acted upon. Acting on curiosity in this instance is nosiness, in my opinion. Whether or not the curiosity is deemed intrusive depends entirely on what each person's own definition of 'intrusive' is.
Depending on which dictionary definition you favour, the word's denotation isn't open to much debate. However, the word's connotations are numerous and subject to interpretation. Why the forum cant have a little change of reputation once in awhile? I'm not dead-set against this idea, but I honestly don't see the point. Out of interest, who else (prior to this thread's creation) has expressed a desire to see banned members' reputations? You mentioned before that new users want to see the reputations of banned members. ![]() |

Wazz and [email protected]: Carious is wondering about stuff, nosy, is annoying or loud.
[email protected]: How would it be annoying? There are no negative sides on this thread, just a positive feeling why we need this. [email protected]: Sometimes users view random reputations, some of the reputations are banned. So that is the answer to the question. |

RE: able to see banned members reputation
Nosy doesn't mean annoying or loud. It means wanting to get into someone's business.
