@Jachym. Where do you get the backgrounds for those cards?

I've been browsing some old forum threads and there was one with the blue BEO2 background (some guy found it and shared it on here so people can put it as their computer background). When I started making these cards, I've screened a place on the background 260x340 pixels. I've saved it and each time I'm making a card I put this screened piece of BEO2 background to one OpenOffice program that allows you to change color of the image. I know it's unprofessional but at least it looks nice. ![]() |

RE: BEO Card Game
Oh ok. I knew you used it because it looked like the background for BEO. But I didn't know how you got so much of the background, since there's not much space where it's just the background.

RE: BEO Card Game
Hi all,
Firstly, wow! It's great to see all the enthusiasm here, lots of awesome ideas and designs. I must admit though that I'm not convinced that this will work mechanically as has been proposed so far (not that we've managed to come up with anything better!). I've been trying to come up with an idea that will work both as a physical card game and an online version (even though I suppose it's very unlikely that we will ever produce a physical version it would be nice to have the option). That means that there are a lot more restrictions though. Keeping track of HP for example becomes tricky. I also feel there needs to be a bit more strategy involved. In the current ideas I'm not seeing anything that suggests you would ever have meaningful choices to make. It seems that there would be nothing to stop you simply using all your highest power attacks. The chicken tokens as cost adds a small choice but in reality there would be no reason not to simply wait until you have the right number of chicken tokens to use your most powerful attacks. |

Well, dealing damage is the main purpose of the cards. I've tried to add a lot of special effects that don't deal damage to my ideas though (stealing/destroying cards/chicken tokens, seeing opponents cards, refreshing cards in your hand etc). And c'mon you have to do choices all the time, will you use your chicken tokens on this card, or will you use them on that one, or maybe I could use this card and the effect will allow me to use that one for free... I agree that a lot of the suggested cards only deal damage but there could be some changes and we could add other effects then just dealing damage. Here, I just came up with a new effect, all opponent's cards are more expensive for a while: ![]() ![]() |

RE: BEO Card Game
Yes that's true, cards like that would certainly increase the strategic element. I was thinking more specifically about the weapon cards though. Is there ever a reason not to use one? It seems that every turn you would always use all your weapon cards to deal the highest possible damage at no cost or did I miss something there?
Also, sorry if I sound negative, I really am very impressed at the work that has gone in here! Just trying to work out some of the potential kinks ![]() |

Nothing is really stopping you from blasting your weapons. You can only use them once, and they are randomly drawn, so it is hard to do a major blowout with weap cards. ![]() ![]() ![]() It's not that I fear in my own self-confidence, it's that the others fear in it. ![]() |

Yes, that's right, but there are more eggs then weapons, so you can expect 3 egg cards and 2 weapon cards in your hand. 2 weapons can deal like 40-100 damage and when the starting health is 500, it's not such a big deal. The egg cards are much more important. (10-20-2015 12:03 AM)Rob Donkin Wrote: Also, sorry if I sound negative, I really am very impressed at the work that has gone in here!
